Sad news, fellow readers. United States of Tara will finish, for good, after it's Season 3 finale!!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
For those who are familiar with the show, your pain is felt around the globe, as US network Showtime has announced that Season 3, currently airing in the US, will be the final season of Tara. Despite the shows critical acclaim, and lead actor Toni Collete's well-deserved Emmy awarded performance (as a suburban housewife suffering from multiple-personality syndrome), poor ratings in the last two seasons has seen the show let go and sent into the netherworld.
The mastermind behind movie epic Juno and the idea for the show itself, Diablo Cody, had this to say:
"It was an incredible experience — I couldn't have asked for a more amazing introduction into the world of television, and I thought we did some fantastic work. Toni's performance is forever. I feel like it's the end of a family, but at least we can all be proud of what we did."I'm sure you join me all in wishing the whole cast a fond farewell and much luck for the future. Let's just hope they can wrap the entire show up in the left-over episodes still due to air. :'-(
