Nooooooo...... But then again, it's not like his anything more than eye candy to the story of late.
For the last 7 years, Patrick Dempsey's McDreamy has graced out lounge-rooms with his luscious wavy hair and smoldering doctor looks, however, the new season of Grey's Anatomy will see Dr Derrick Sheppard hang up his stethoscope for greener pastures.
Patrick admits that the show has been "a great part" of his life, and that leaving is "bittersweet" but "he can't see [himself] doing it anymore". No word yet on whether any of the other cast members will be pulling the plug on their cast-monitors after the following season, but we have it on good authority that a number of their contracts are up, so they may not have a choice in the matter. And we all know how Grey's handles cat changes, get your tissue ready...
Personally, we think the show has just about done it's dash, and maybe finishing on their eighth season wouldn't be such a bad idea all round...

Turns out McDreamy may not be going anywhere anytime soon. His rep had this to say:
“He was referring to the fact that his contract is up at the end of next season and we have no idea what the future holds.”Hmmmmmm, once again, we'll just have to wait and see....
