Cynthia Nixon Lands A Miniseries With A Big Budget!!!

Hell yeah, she's one of the most under-rated actresses of our time!!!

Sex And The City's Cynthia Nixon seems to be having a good run of it these days. Just a few months after her partner, Christine Marinoni, gave birth to the couples baby boy, Max Nixon-Marinoni, Cynthia has landed herself a role in a new Starz miniseries by the name of World Without End!!!

This $44 million production will also star the likes of Miranda Richardson and Ben Chaplin, with it's premise being:

"Set in England 200 years after the events in Pillars, World chronicles tough times for ordinary citizens who are being hit with enormous taxes by the King, the Church as England teeters on the brink of a devastating 100-year war with France, and Europe is bracing for a terrible plague, which will wipe out a third of the continent's population."
"The mini centers on Caris, a visionary woman who, with her lover Merthin, builds a community that stands up to the Crown and the Church."

Sounds interesting to say the least. Cynthia will not be playing the lead role, but we're sure whoever she is in the series, she'll blow us away!!!

Buffy and Gossip Girl star Michelle Trachtenberg will be making a 2 episode guest-star appearance in Weeds upcoming 7th season as a love interest for Silas and a rival dealer for Nancy, what else!!!

The only shame in this news is that she will only be on the show for two episodes, no one plays bad like Michelle, they should give her more time to be really bad!!!

Seems wedding bells are in the air lately!!!

Dexter's Julie Benz has announced that she is recently engaged to her current beau Rich Orosco, who proposed to her last Sunday.

The couple then celebrated their impending nuptials with a party of close family and friend, and a Mariachi band. Ariba!!!!!!!!!!

Julie had this to say about the news:

"I can't believe that none of my friends leaked the surprise. It was like a Navy Seal operation."

The Toys Are Back In Town, For A Fourth Time!!!

A fourth movie might be spreading the franchise a little thin, I mean, look at Shrek!!!!!!!

But never-the-less, Sheriff Woody himself, Tom Hanks, has recently come forth and told us all that there will indeed be a Toy Story 4.

When asked by the BBC News if there will be a Toy Story 4 for his grand-daughter to watch, Hanks replied:

"I think there will be yeah. Yeah, yeah, think they're working on it now. There you go."

Exciting!!!! As long as they don't mess it up like with Cars 2, mind you Toy Story 3 was awesome so we'll just wait and see fellow readers.

My dads, Tony and Tom, went to Supanova 2011 in Perth this last weekend, celebrating everything sci-fi, anime, and geeky..... A real nerd-fest yes, but what a fun one!!!!!

They had the pleasure of meeting three of their favourite TV show stars: James Marsters (above, from Buffy/Angel and Torchwood), Gareth David-Lloyd (from Torchwood) and Amy Acker (from Angel and Dollhouse).

A Gay Marriage Proposal At A Kylie Concert... How Appropriate!!!

Last Wednesday, my two dads attended the Kylie's Aphrodite Concert in Perth, Western Australia, and were delighted to see a beautiful display of emotion unfold on-stage halfway through.

Kylie stopped her concert to pull two men on-stage, Ben and Scott, who were there celebrating their 9th anniversary, when Ben popped the question on Scott!!!!! Happily, the outcome was positive, and the love from the crowd was palpable.

And what a sexy couple they make too!!!!!!!!!

James Bond's Daniel Craig and The Mummy's Rachel Weisz have tied the knot last Wednesday in a secret wedding ceremony attended by a massive crowd of four people!!!

The couples two children, both from previous relationships, and two close friends were in attendance at the private ceremony. They previously met and feel in love whilst filming together about a year ago, and have both blossomed ever since.

We wish them both all the happiness in the world!!!

Some new stills from The Hobbit have just been released (care of Entertainment Weekly), and they look great!!!!!!

Peter Jackson is directing again (who else), as The Hobbit tells the tales of Frodo's uncle Bilbo Baggins and his early years, so as to be a prequel to The Lord Of The Rings films.

Sir Ian McKellan has taken up the role of Gandalf yet again, and Martin Freeman is playing a younger Bilbo Baggins. Peter had this to say about Martin's work on the film:

”He fits the ears, and he's got some very nice feet,. I think he's got the biggest hobbit feet we've had so far. They're a little bit hard to walk in, but he's managed to figure out the perfect hobbit gait.”

 We are soooooo excited about this film!!!!!!!

Jamie Foxx Is Tarantino's Django!!!

Nooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!! Urgh, we can't stand this guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, in all fairness, he can be a good actor AT TIMES!!!!! But most of his movies suck!!!!! But then again, we're not a big Kurt Russell fan and he rocked it in Death Proof, so we'll give Quentin the benefit of the doubt with this casting choice....

As reported earlier, Will Smith was in the running for the lead of Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, but sadly turned it down, leaving the lead role open for Jamie Foxx to take over.

So here's what we know so far:

Foxx will play the title role of Django, a freed slave who teams with a German bounty hunter to take on an evil plantation owner in order to retrieve his long-lost love, Broomhilda. Kerry Washington, who played opposite Foxx in "Ray," has met with Tarantino for the latter role; she's one of a handful of contenders in the mix. Leonardo DiCaprio has been set as the sadistic slavemaster Calvin Candie, while Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" star Christoph Waltz will play Django's friend and mentor. Samuel L. Jackson is expected to play Stephen, Candie's right-hand man.

No matter the lead casting choice, or the fact that his surname is unnecessarily spelt with two x's, we will of course be looking forward to this one as we have with all Quentin's films!!!

True Blood's Season 5 May Be It's Last!!!

Oh say it isn't so!!!!!!!!!!!

True Blood creator Alan Ball is still in negotiations for season 5, just as season 4 begins, however he says he may not have anymore seasons in him after that:

“I don’t know if I have any left in me after that. We’ll see .. I think if we did 13 seasons we’d have to address why vampires are aging. Maybe there would be a bad batch of Tru Blood. … With the supernatural thing you can always go places storywise that you couldn’t go on another show.”

Yeah, so, go with that storyline then........ WE NEED OUR NAME-SAKE TO BE AROUND FOREVER!!!!!!!!

However, in saying that, we don't want it to be one of those series that out-stays it's welcome, so maybe an early wrap up might do it justice. Hmmmm, stay tuned.

The new Spider-Man film, The Amazing Spider-Man, seems to have been a set filled with blossoming romance between it's two young leads.

Sources have revealed that Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are an item, and have been for quite some time now:

"They got close during filming and have been hooking up. They haven't gone public, but he's told friends."

Awwwww..... Such a good-looking couple too, and we love her!!!!!

Glee Kids To Graduate In Season 3!!!

But.... Then...... Like...... Who's going to takeover the roles of Highschool Glee Clubbers?????

Glee's creator Ryan Murphy was asked that very same question lately, and here's how he responded:

“This next [season] will be their senior year, and then that [they] will graduate. We didn’t want to have a show where they were in high school for eight years. We really wanted to be true to that experience.”

“There’s a couple rumors floating around, that half the cast is go to be replaced by the winner of The Glee Project, which is not true."

We've already read that show favourite Lea Michele (who plays diva Rachel Barry) will refuse to leave the show even after her character graduates, so it could be interesting to see just how some of our favourite Glee kids stay on, and who will be the new generation???

Jackass Star Ryan Dunn Dies In Car Accident!!!

So sad......

Reports have come in over the last 24 hours that Jackass favourite Ryan Dunn has died in a car accident, in which he was driving whilst under the influence of alcohol.

His un-named passenger has also sadly passed in the accident. It's such a shame that he wasn't more responsible before getting behind the wheel of a car, such a tragic and unnecessary loss of life!!!

Our condolences go out to his friends, family and loved ones.

Rebecca Black Ain't Charging For Friday, She's Already Made Bank!!!

We've gotta hand it to her, Friday's will never be the same again.........

Although her decision to pull her infamous video off of YouTube might change all that!!! It seems Rebecca Black wasn't happy with her record companies, Ark Music Factory (AMF), decision to charge a hire fee of $2.99 for the video, so she yanked it out from under their feet and out of YouTube's grasps. AMF's response:

"We’re disappointed, having been in good faith negotiations with Rebecca Black and her representatives for months regarding any open issues. There’s been an ongoing, open dialogue with our company. So we were blindsided to get a Take Down Notice, with no notice, alleging copyright infringement instead of a call or email from Rebecca’s representatives. We are going to continue to take the high road and work out the complaint as soon as possible."

But Black feels she did it for her listeners, who don't deserve to be charged to listen to her music. Easy for her to say, reports are that she's already made SIX FIGURES from the song and video through online sales and endorsement deals alone. What does $2.99 matter when your a millionaire at 14 years old!!!!!!!!

Hugh Jackman Is Les Miserables!!!

Spunky Aussie superstar Hugh Jackman is in talks to star in Tom Hooper's film adaptation of the musical Les Miserables as Jean Valjean.

Not much in the way of details on the project are available, just that Hugh has been made as the first casting choice, now with issues as to who is perfect enough to play opposite him being the main focus at current.

Jurassic Park 4 Might Still Happen!!!

Something has survived........ Again......... For the fourth time!!!

After years of speculation, and rumours that even Keira Knightley was attached to the project, Jurassic Park 4 seemed to fade away to dust. But rumours never fade entirely, and it seems, it may be back on the Hollywood tables again.

The latest news is that  Steven Spielberg has been speaking with I Am Legend screenwriter Mark Protosevich about ideas for a Jurassic Park franchise reboot, and they may have a script ready by the end of the year.

We're excited, we love a good dinosaur movie!!!!!!!!!

Russell Crowe Hired To Play Superman's Dad!!!

Aussie actor, Russell Crowe, is in final negotiations to join the cast of Zack Snyder's Superman reboot as..... Jor-El, Superman's biological father.

The role was once played by Marlon Brando in the 1978 movie, staring Christopher Reeves in the title role.

We're very excited to see this flick, and think Russell might be a really good choice for the part.... As long as he doesn't have any scenes with telephones nearby (sorry, couldn't resist)!!!!

True Blood Character Goes Gay!!!

Another one??? It's going to be Gay Blood by the time the seasons up, not that there's anything wrong with that lol!!!!!!!!!

Well, the rumour mill has been in overdrive yet again, and has set it's sites on True Blood. As if the first 8 minutes wasn't enough to wet your appetite, it seem series creator Alan Ball has a surprise installed for the audience, in the form of the "outing" of one of the main characters!!!!!!

Lips are sealed tightly as to who it may be, but sources tell us not only will we know who it is by the end of the first episode, but that it won't come as too much of a shock either.

Hmmmmm, our monies on Pam, Vampire Eric's right-hand-woman..... We've seen her dip into the proverbial honey-pot once before, so it makes sense.....

Penn Badgley To Play Jeff Buckley In New Biopic!!!

What an interesting choice!!!!!!

Gossip Girl's Penn Badgley is set to play (one of our favourites) deceased musical genius Jeff Buckley in a new movie biopic.

The role, also chased by Twilight's Robert Pattinson, will see Penn show off his vocal talents as the troubled singer who drowned in his 20's not too long ago.

We can't wait to see how he goes in the role!!!

It seems viewers love a good forensics who-done-it!!!!!!

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation has reached top honours for the fourth time in the last six years as the most-watched TV show, according to data collected by Eurodata TV Worldwide.

The crime-drama has been ranked number one over 5 continents, including (our very own) Australia!!!

That's a pretty impressive feat considering it's been on the air now for around 11 years!!!

Lady Gaga's Meat Dress To Be On Display At The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame!!!

OMG!!!!! We love this outfit, definitely our favourite!!!!! It's so delicious and it made so many vegans angry which is hilarious to us!!!!!!

Lady Gaga's infamous meat dress, which she wore to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, will be on display, as of this Thursday, at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland in the US.

The dress, created by Franc Fernandez, will be part of the Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power exhibit for the day.

Kim Cattrall Doesn't Think Sex & The City 3 Will Happen!!!

And that may be a god thing......

Oh don't get us wrong, we LOVE the show, and although the movies were fun, they just kinda seemed to be repeating old storylines for the sake of more bucks.

Well, in saying that, Kim Cattrall, who played PR vixen Samantha Jones in the show, has recently stated in an interview about her concerns as to whether or not a third movie will ever happen:

"I don't know if it will happen. I really, really have no idea. I love playing Samantha Jones. I would love playing Samantha Jones again, but I don't know if I will. Originally I was asked to do the movie with no script, no start date, and a very paltry sum. I thought the three of us should fight for a piece of what we created and that was my reluctance. The four of us were not set for life. We were on cable TV and we were not making nearly what our counterparts in television were making. I thought we were working damn hard and it was the time to negotiate that."

Fair enough too!!!

Although we will forever miss the awesome-foursome of NYC, we will be happy knowing that the last movie was their final and forever send-off.

A young man in the Philippines has caused worldwide outrage by posting pictures of his poor puppy being pegged to a clothesline on Facebook. He initially ignored requests from animal lovers to take the photos down, stating he would not go to jail for "washing" his dog, that was until thousands of members of the public and animal rights activists, such as PETA, got wind of the situation.

Superstar actresses and siblings, Dakota and Elle Fanning (17 and 13 years old), have landed themselves some bad publicity and comments from concerned parents and media groups for posing in, what is to be considered, "inappropriate" photos, especially for their age group.

Dakota can be seen in the new Marc Jacobs perfume ad for Oh, Lola! (clearly an homage to the scandalous film Lolita), whilst Elle has been caught wearing hotpants in the newest edition of Marie Claire...... Both clothed and posing like any teenage girl that you'd see on Facebook or at the local shops...... SCANDALOUS!!!!!!!

Marc Jacobs had this to say about Dakota's shoot:

"When we were speaking about who to use in the ads, I had recently seen [Dakota in] The Runaways. I knew she could be this contemporary Lolita, seductive yet sweet."

And if you've seen The Runaways, then you know she wears a lot less and poses a lot more provocatively then in this shoot!!!

But some websites are claiming that these types of photos are too mature for such young actresses, with gossip blog Celebitchy stating:

"It would be sultry if it was a 29-year-old. Because it’s a 13-year-old [and 17-year-old], it’s bordering on 'too much.'"

Ryan Reynolds Talks About Green Lantern 2 & 3 Already!!!

What??? No Green Lantern 12 or 13 yet?????? Ho Hum......

It seems the impending release of Ryan Reynolds' new action-hero flick, Green Lantern, is being sooo hyped up that there may already be talk of sequels before it even gets released!!!!

Ryan recently had this to say about the movies future:

"I'm not throwing that out there at all. There's such a rich history with this character, so you get really excited about the possibility. The inevitable war between Hal and Sinestro is something that will have to be dealt with in the second movie for sure, but there's always subplots and a lot of other interesting things going on that are setting up a possible third film."

Gee whiz!!!!!! Talk about premature jubilation Ryan!!! Although we won't mind if we have to sit through more movies with him in skin-tight lycra... WOOF!!!

After the Internet was a buzz with speculation that Robert Pattinson may have used a body double to get the rippling back muscles that feature in the sex-scene snippets in the trailer for Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1, a rep for the star has come forth to clear things up:

"A body double was NOT used."

Simple at best, but direct. Seems like R-Patz is a lot muscly than we give him credit for... But after the painted-on-abs of the second movie, can your really blame us for questioning?!?!?!

Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman, and fiance Benjamin Millepied, have just announced that they recently welcomed their newborn son to their family!!!

No news on the name yet, but if it's outrageous (which seems to be the trend these days) you'll see it here soon!!!

The couple met on the set of the film Black Swan, and have been blissfully happy together ever since. Congratulations to the both of them!!!

Today show host and all around douche-bag Karl Stefanovic thought it would be HILARIOUS to tell the Dalai Lama a Dalai Lama joke..... What followed is one of the most awkward moments on Australian TV ever, and has now becoming a laughing point the world-wide, going viral online!!!

We don't know what prompted him to do this, but we are glad he is now being humiliated for it, it was the Dalai Lama after all.... WHAT WAS HE THINKING??? LMAO!!!!!!!

A Case Of Art Imitating Life For Fran Drescher!!!

And that's just fine by her...

90's TV starlet, Fran Drescher, is coming back to the small screen with her new comedy show, Happily Divorced. She'll play a woman who is attempting to move on with her life after she finds out her husband is gay!!!

The spin, playing the role wasn't a stretch for her, as the same thing happened to her in real life!!! She recently spoke to People Magazine about her relationship with her gay ex-husband:

"He had already been living a gay life away from me after we divorced, and he said, 'I don't want you to be shocked. I'm dating men'. During our marriage he had told me he might be bisexual, but he wanted to stay married."

After 21 years of marriage, Drescher said her husbands announcement wasn't as earth-shattering as some may have thought:

"By the time he told me, I had survived uterine cancer. Nothing could shake me. It's great that we had the ability and the wisdom to reinvent our relationship. All those years weren't for nothing. We're very tight. We're best friends."

Drescher has been an active supporter of gay-rights ever since her ex-husbands announcement. We're so happy to see two people still hold so much love for eachother despite such an ordeal.

We miss Fran and look forward to checking out the show!!!

Doing a glammed-up shoot for Vogue, she recently had this to say about her Harry Potter role as Hermione, and her education to date:

 "Hermione is so close to who I am as a person that I've never really had to research a role," she told the magazine, saying taking on new roles is "literally rediscovering what it means to be an actress." 

"I have felt for the last 10 years I have had this battle; I've been fighting so hard to have an education. It's been this uphill struggle. I was Warner Bros' pain in the butt. I was their scheduling conflict. I was the one who made life difficult."

She recently had this to say about touring again in 2012:

Anne Hathaway seems to be taking to her role as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, in The Dark Knight Rises, like a cat to a mouse!!! Especially during her action-packed fight scenes!!! A source has revealed:

“Anne was filming a very similar fight scene when her costume split right open right on her bottom. She’s putting everything into this role both physically and emotionally and the wardrobe department is paying the price. She must have gone through a dozen costume changes due to Anne throwing herself around.”

Now I'm even more excited to see this movie!!!!!! Still don't know if she can top Michelle Pfeiffers' turn as Catwoman, but we'll pay our moneys to give her a go....

Everythings Coming Up Tony!!! NPH Gives It A 9% Viewership Increase From Last Years Show!!!

And we're not surprised!!!

Last night, Neil Patrick Harris hosted the 2011 Tony Awards Show for the second time in his career, and blew the roof off the place!!!

Not only did viewership increase by 9% from last years figures, but the audience was also taught how Broadway isn't just for gays anymore lol....

Check out the HILARIOUS opening number (after the jump), which was almost ruined by Brooke Shields blunder until Neil saved the skit, and also his duet with the very hunkilicious Hugh Jackman as well. WOOF!!!!!

Nick Jonas On Playing Link Larkin In Hairspray!!!

And we think he'll do a pretty good job too!!!

Jonas Brothers youngest sibling, Nick Jonas, is set to play the character of Link Larkin in this US Summers run of Hairspray, made famous by Zac Efron in the movie of the same title.

The actor/singer had this to say about his new Broadway endeavour:

"I'm really excited about doing 'Hairspray.' When they approached me about it, I was really blessed ’cause I knew the cast would be amazing. And when I finally saw it, I was really thrilled… It's a great role and I got to get my dance on a little bit, so I'm going to figure that out. I did some salsa dancing; just went out and did some salsa dancing, which was a really fun experience and, I think, kind of got me moving a little bit. So I'm feeling a bit more comfortable than I did before and I'm excited to get out there and do the whole Link Larkin thing."

Sounds good to us, wish we could go see him do his thang!!! I'm sure Delta will, WOOF!!!

Lily Allen has finally tied the knot with her partner, Sam Cooper, at the St. James the Great Church in Gloucestershire over the weekend.

But it was to be a double celebration when Sam also announced, to their 100 odd guests at the wedding, that the couple were also expecting their first baby together. Apparently Lily is 16 weeks along and doing perfectly!!!

That's such awesome news, and we wish this new family all the best!!!

Russell Crowe Is Anti-Circumcision And The Jewish World Is Pissed!!!

We actually think it's the first thing he's said/done that we agree with in a long time!!!

Russell Crowe has landed himself in some hot water lately after tweeting comments about how he finds the act of circumcising infants as "barbaric", and we agree!!! Here's what he had to say:

"Circumcision is barbaric and stupid. Who are you to correct nature? Is it real that God requires a donation of foreskin? Babies are perfect. I love my Jewish friends, I love the apples and the honey and the funny little hats, but stop cutting your babies. I will always stand for the perfection of babies. I will always believe in God, not man's interpretation of what God requires. Last of it, if you feel it is your right to cut things off your babies please unfollow and f**k off; I'll take attentive parenting over barbarism."

Maybe bringing up the Jewish belief of circumcision wasn't the smartest of moves, as it's not only Jewish people who circumcise their boys, but we certainly agree with his live and let foreskin approach!!! Unfortunately, the tabloids and some Jewish representatives did not agree with him, and have asked for his foreskin on a silver platter. Russell has tried to smooth the tension of late by tweeting:

"I have a deep and abiding love for all people of all nationalities, I'm very sorry that I have said things on here that have caused distress. My personal beliefs aside, I realise that some will interpret this debate as me mocking the rituals and traditions of others. I am very sorry."

Now we know Russell to be a hot-head at times, keep your telephones away from him lol, but a racist he is not. Even Jewish actor/director Eli Roth came to his defence, tweeting:

"[Crowe is] one of the nicest people I have ever been lucky enough to meet and work with. AND RESPECTFUL OF ALL RELIGIONS."

Personally, Jewish, Christian, Gay, Straight, Mexican, French or otherwise, you should leave your boys foreskins where you found them. Circumcision is unnecessary, archaic and barbaric, it's not okay!!!

Robert Pattinson Had A Body-Double For The Breaking Dawn Sex Scene!!!

Cause he and Kristen haven't had enough practice together, and he was feeling shy???

Turns out that hulking ripped back that break the bed-head in the Breaking Dawn trailer, may not be Edwards own. Speculation has it that the usually scrawny Robert Pattinson could not have been the body in the trailer, and that a body-double with more defined features is the one breaking the bed.

No matter if it's true or not, we wont be complaining when we see it lol. He also had this to say about filming the crucial wedding scene:

"She looked amazing. She got to do the whole walking down the aisle and everything. It was pretty, very sweet. Hopefully it will be good. I didn't really do much other than just stand there, which I guess is what most guys do [at a wedding]."

Woman Who Tattoo's 152 Friends On Her Arm Is A Phoney, A Big Fat Phoney!!!

Phew, unfriending will not be as bad as we thought!!!

Turns out, the woman we wrote about a couple of days ago, who made headlines world-wide after getting her arm tattooed with 152 of her Facebook friends and putting the video of it on YouTube, made the whole thing up!!!

A Rotterdam tattoo artist, by the name of Dex Moelker, came forth to a Dutch newspaper, and admitted that the sleeve was just an elaborate fake. Moelker said:

"It is a try out tattoo, a transfer, that washes off in a couple of days."

Rumoured to be the brainchild of Pretty Social, the Dutch company that sells Facebook-themed gifts, the tattoo sleeve may soon be available for all to try, just pic your friends wisely...

Brooke Shields is heading back to the stage after a 7 year hiatus, and she's filling in for Bebe Neuwirth as Morticia Addams in The Addams Family.

Brooke had this to say about the role:

"She's truly a woman, and also a mom, which is an interesting piece of the puzzle"

Awesome, wish we could see it, but sadly, dogs aren't aloud in the theatre!!! Grrrrrrr.......
